Shoppable Team Feature: Say Hello to Jam!

It’s time to shine the spotlight on one of the stars of Shoppable Business – Jam Sebastian, our talented UI designer! This guy is the real deal when it comes to creating user interfaces that innovate our clients’ online shopping experience. He creates and tests wireframes, layouts, and prototypes, ensuring every element is in the right place and the design is optimized. Undoubtedly, the way to get to know someone is by sharing a conversation with them. With this, we’d like to introduce Jam and know more about his contributions to the team.

Q: Can you tell us about yourself and the work that you do?

A: Hello, I’m Jam. I’m your UI/UX Graphic Designer. I’m responsible for the visual design and layout of the digital product (mostly the website), as well as the overall user experience of it.

Q: If you were to have any skill, what would it be, and why this skill?

A: For me, I would still choose my current skill, which is designing, because it feels great when I solve people’s problems with my designs.

Q: Tell us about a time when you felt fulfilled at work. What was it that made you feel this way?

A: Well, for a UI/UX Designer like me, I feel fulfilled when I see my designs are being developed by the developer and being used by the users.

Q: If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?

A: MIND READING!!! So that I don’t have to guess and decipher anymore what people expect to see in my designs. HAHAHA!

Q: Name a person, famous or not, whom you look up to.

A: Ran Segall. A famous person in the design field. He is a full-stack designer. Just like him, I want to be an all-around designer.

Q: What are your lifelong dreams, and how does your work align with them?

A: My lifelong dream is to start my own design agency and become the best in the industry, and so far, I’m still aligned with my work right now because I knew I could use the experience I gained at Shoppable for the design agency of my dreams.

Q: What is your greatest achievement outside of work?

A: I think my greatest achievement outside my work so far is that I can finally financially support my family. It is also a great achievement that I got the chance to meet and befriend a lot of good people, which until now I can still rely on and have fun with, and also to improve myself more as a human being.

Q: There’s no right or wrong answer, but if you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you be and why?

A: I would like to be in Japan. Japanese design is known for minimalism, organic forms, representations of nature, geometric shapes, symbolism, and custom typography. I’m a fan of it, and I would like to see those with my own eyes. Also, I’m an anime fan, so it would be amazing if I got a chance to go there, hehe.

Q: Describe your current team.

A: My current team right now are all reliable and easy to reach out to. There’s not one person I don’t get a long with. Everyone is supportive and is passionate about their jobs.

Q: What made you decide to join Shoppable? What was your life like before joining? And how is it going so far?

A: I joined Shoppable so I could learn and expand my knowledge of the B2B eCommerce industry and see if I could use my skills to help them. Before, I didn’t know much about B2B, but now it has improved a lot. I also like the flexibility Shoppable gave me. On my previous roles, they were instances of micromanaging, in Shoppable I can honestly say that I feel like I am trusted and respected. It’s fun. I brag about it to my previous coworkers. 😀

Jam likes to spend his free time socializing and going out on trips with his friends and family. He is  a true team player and collaborates closely with our developers, marketers, and other departments. In conclusion, Jam is an integral part of our team. We are grateful to have him on board and can’t wait to see what he’ll come up with next!
