And speaking of which, today we’d like to introduce one of our team members: Lester Mejia! You may have met him before at one of our events or might have seen him in one of our exhibits. Either way, Lester is one of our most reliable team members to date! It goes without saying that there are countless behind-the-scenes members whose talent contributions make Shoppable’s challenges worth tackling. Without further ado, let’s dive deeper into this Account Specialist’s daily.
Q. Tell us about yourself and the work that you do.
A: Hello, my name is Lester, and I am an Account Specialist at Shoppable Business. My primary focus is on seller acquisition, where I work to identify and bring on board new vendors who can offer our customers a wide range of high-quality products that have competitive prices. As an Account Specialist, I am responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with our sellers, ensuring they have the support and resources they need to succeed on our platform.
Q. What has been the biggest dream you’d like to achieve and why?
A: My biggest dream has always been to have my own business. Ever since I was a child, I’ve had a fascination with entrepreneurship and the idea of creating something from scratch that can help others and make a positive impact on the world.
Q: After a stressful day, you eat some comfort food. What would you eat and why?
A: When it comes to comfort food, there’s nothing quite like indulging in the deliciousness of street foods. Whether in the mood for a hearty meal or a sweet treat, I know I can always find comfort and satisfaction in street food.
Q: What is something interesting you’ve learned about your work, and how is it interesting to you?
A: While working, the most interesting lesson I’ve learned is the importance of collaboration. I’ve discovered that by working together as a team, we can achieve far more than we could as individuals. By pooling our talents, sharing our ideas, and supporting each other, we can create solutions that drive results and achieve our goals.
Q: What do you do to unwind after a long day at work?
A: After a long day of work, I find that there is no better way to unwind than by taking my bike out for a ride. Riding my bike is not only a physical activity that helps me stay in shape, but it’s also a mental escape that allows me to recharge and reset after a busy day.
Q: In 2-3 sentences, name a work-related skill you have and are proud of. Tell us why you picked this skill of yours in particular.
A: Adaptability is a crucial aspect of my work, and it is something that I take great pride in. In a constantly changing and evolving work environment, it is important to adjust to new circumstances and challenges quickly and effectively. I believe that adaptability is a valuable trait that can help me achieve my goals, and it is something that I am committed to cultivating throughout my career.
Q: What do you find exciting about the work that you do?
A: One of the most exciting parts of my job is the opportunity to meet new people and form connections with them. Each new connection I make not only allows me to expand my network but also provides me with new perspectives and insights that I may not have otherwise considered. Building relationships and making meaningful connections with others is truly one of the most fulfilling aspects of my job, and it is something that I look forward to with great anticipation.
Q: Tell us about something you’ve always wanted to do (e.g., baking, sky diving, pottery classes – anything).
A: Playing the piano has always been a dream of mine. Every time I hear a beautiful piece being played, I feel a deep longing to create that same sound with my own hands. It will take time and practice to achieve mastery, but the journey will be well worth it.
Q: Where is your dream travel destination, and why?
A: My dream destination is Israel. There’s something about the country’s rich history and diverse culture that has always intrigued me. I’ve always been fascinated by the country’s religious significance and the role it has played in shaping the world’s major religions. I know a trip to Israel would be an unforgettable and memorable adventure.
Q: How would you describe the success you want to achieve for yourself in 5 to 10 years?
A: Success is defined by the learning experiences I gain in my career path. Over the next 5 to 10 years, I aim to achieve significant success by continuing to grow and develop personally and professionally. I am committed to taking on new challenges and expanding my knowledge and expertise in my field.
