About the job Software Project Manager
Primary Function
The Software Project Manager drives the project throughout its life cycle. He is involved in the planning, monitoring, and reporting of assigned project/s. He oversees both the product being produced and the people performing the work, ensuring that the software project is executed through from start to finish, based on the project plans.
Responsibilities
- Planning
- Own product specifications, requirements, and release plans
- Discuss and assist in the definition of project scope, business objectives, product requirements, and other parameters with executives, software developers, and all relevant stakeholders for ensuring technical feasibility
- Translate product requirements into specific software requirements for the technology team and user experience team
- Collaborate with stakeholders to guide feature development and prioritization
- Partner with cross functional teams to ensure quality product output, timeliness, and market requirements
- Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
- Product/Project Management
- Actively manage and track project performance and ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
- Work closely with the technology team and UI/UX team for the execution of projects
- Track milestones, deliverables, and change requests using appropriate tools and techniques
- Determine and oversee consistent testing, evaluation, and troubleshooting of all products in all stages of completion
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
- Lead process of issue identification and resolution
- Work on multiple projects within the companys project portfolio simultaneously, as needed
- Coordinate and manage internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
- Communication
- Manage the relationship with all stakeholders
- Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
- Report and escalate issues to management as needed
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- At least 3 years working experience in software product management and/or software project management
- Proven track record of managing various or all aspects of a successful product/project throughout its lifecycle
- Solid experience with software development methodologies
- Structured approach with experience in an agile work
- Good understanding or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies
- Good leadership, decision-making, and organization skills
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams in a matrix organization
- Willingness to roll up ones sleeves to get the job
- Thrives in a collaborative environment
- Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience in the field of IT software development sector
- Preferred: Project Management Professional (PMP) or in the process of gaining certification within the next six months
- Preferred: End-to-End software product development and management skills
- Proficient in MS Office and other project management software and tools
