Glyza is a real gem when it comes to working for the team and making sure Shoppable’s overall operation goes smoothly. It’s always fun to know a little more about what goes on in this girl’s mind. This is why we’re glad to share some facts and insights to our Ops go-to girl, Glyza!
Q: Tell us about yourself and the work that you do.
A: Hola! I’m Glyza, the Admin & Operations Support Coordinator of Shoppable. I bring a fresh perspective, willingness to learn and adapt to the ever-changing ecommerce landscape.
Q: Can you tell us about something you’re passionate about (it could be anything under the sun and beyond?
A: I’m quite interested in traveling because it shows that there is so much more in life other than your comfort zone. It makes you want to explore the beauty of what surrounds you.
Q: Talking about matters you’re proud of, what do you think is your greatest achievement outside of your career?
A: My greatest achievement in this life is making my parents proud and having a special bond with them that is so pure and genuine.
Q: What do you think is the best part about your role at Shoppable?
A: The best part of it is that I get to explore the company and get meet people inside and outside the company whom I can gain knowledge, lessons, and experiences from that are essential for my growth.
Q: What is one practice that keeps you motivated (at and outside of work)?
A: “Always look for the good in people.” We may not always find it, but we always try.
Q: What makes your career feel purposeful?
A: I get to reflect on what I did, what I should’ve done, and what I will do—remember that every experience is a lesson gained.
Q: How would you describe a supportive work environment?
A: A supportive work environment is when you are surrounded by those who value your physical, mental, and emotional well-being while exposing you to work-related experiences that will help you gain skills.
Q: Where do you go when you need inspiration (a location, a social media platform, a page, anything)?
A: When I need to refresh and reset, I always go to my nephew because being with him reminds me of much simpler times, and he gives me the feeling of serenity, which is ironic because he’s at the age where he runs off everywhere and is full of mischief.
Q: What is your philosophy at work?
A: Always treat people with respect, and be passionate and proficient with what you do so that it will lead you to an excellent outcome.
Q: What do you like most about Shoppable, and how do you see that aligns with your career goals?
A: What I like most about Shoppable is that they put me exactly where I needed to be to help me in my career. Being the Admin & Operations Support has a good advantage in knowing the process that allows me to understand things better, which eventually helps me to be an effective member of the team.
Glyza, along with her team at the Administrative and Operations Department, is contributing an enormous amount of time to shaping the company. Outside of work, Glyza is also a driven and outgoing person, dedicated to achieving her goals, whether defying the odds or challenging the status quo.
